silent film 3

My last film I just wanted to show the sheer amount of trash cans in just a limited part of the city. I wanted to show an endless line of garbage.

silent film 2

I loved the cool blue colors on the back of fuel cafe on Center St. and the different textures of the wall. I decided to brake up the solid colors of the wall with a short clip of stills of a bucket I found in the alley that I manipulated to make it look as if it was moving. Lastly I put the lawn chair with an orange on it at the end to add more color to the film.

silent film 1

I liked my short clip of my ciggarette in a puddle slowly rippling and I decided to make another short film with me holding a ciggarette while putting in clips of wear it will soon end up once it is burnt out.

rough cut 5

This orange has been lounging in the lawn chair in my backyard since fall. I later just took stills of the lawn chair and orange.

watch it!

rough cut 4

I found alot of trash cans in every alley that I came across on my circular walk. I filmed them all.

watch it!

rough cut 3

I found this bucket in an alley between fratney st. and bremen st. Made from stills.

watch it!

rough cut 2

I found this multicolored blue cement wall behind fuel cafe on center st. Made from a collection of stills of the wall.

rough cut 1

I dropped my cigarette in a puddle in an alley near center st.

image capturing

The image capturing strategies I used were a frame filled with solid colors and/or tones, creating a false movement, objects blown by the wind, and trash.

drift strategy

The strategy for my second drift was differen't from my first, which was just around my house. I decided to keep with the idea of my house and just walk every street and alley within a two block radius of my house. I know it isn't exploring the city but I often don't walk certain directions from my house, so I found some interesting things.
